About
Tizita is Amharic, it describes the bitter sweet nostalgic feeling. It felt like the right name for a vintage watch store selling tiny little things that carry forty or fifty years of life. Most of what you'll see in the store is going to be Omega and Universal Genève, roughly from the 1950s to the 1990s. Brands that where juggernauts in the era, producing genuinely interesting and well built pieces. Over the years the market has forgotten about them meaning they can be picked up for a fraction of what there current counter parts would be worth. The collection stays small on purpose. The idea is to showcase original, uncommon and beautiful pieces that don't break the bank. Every piece is photographed in daylight and described by me, in my own words, based on what I can actually see and verify. If something has been replaced, restored, or simply can't be confirmed, I say so. I would rather you knew before you bought than after. Sales go through Chrono24. It's where collectors already look for watches like these, and it gives us both something a private sale can't — secure payment, buyer protection, a paper trail.
